Episode 85 – Headbutt or Groin Kick

Once again I sat down with Justin Doffek to see how accurate we were with our draft predictions. On top of that, we took a look at some draft diamonds in the rough from years past, we ask ourselves a stupid question, and we even manage to get a little deep.

If anyone has any title ideas for Justin’s hypothetical sports show, we are all ears. You can reach us at mediapodsmash@gmail.com and hear more of our nonsense at Pop Culture Roulette!

Your continued support rocks; you are all incredible and beautiful people.

Episode 84 – O.T. with JD

This week I sat down with good friend and 1/3 of Pop Culture Roulette, Justin Doffek. We discussed the upcoming NFL draft and we attempt to riff on some Halloween topics in honor of halfway to Halloween.

It was a lot of fun to sit down and get schooled in what to expect from the draft from someone who I consider to be probably one of the most passionate sports people I know. So much so, that we’ve many times joked or referenced spinning off and doing a 3rd show (hence the episode’s title, OT with JD). Perhaps as time goes on and we continue our efforts, this show may become a reality. For now, we’ll just have to settle with this back-door pilot episode.

Thanks for the continuing support; we really appreciate it. It’s been a lot of fun reviving the series this year and stretching myself creatively to try and think of new segments, games, and other ideas. Never stop chasing your dreams folks; you never know what could happen!

Episode 83 – The 90’S Nostalgia Hype Show!

This week we are joined by special guest and long time friend, Mitch Grande. Together, the three of us attempt to vote and breakdown a 90’s Nick and Cartoon Network bracket in an effort to get hyped for the next game show. You may remember Mitch from the last game show, perhaps the Christmas episode, or if you are real old school, Episode 58 – Way Back When.

It’s always fun to dive into the past and get all warm and fuzzy while remembering moments that shaped us. The 90’s Nostalgia Showdown II will hopefully be dropping by the end of next month sometime and until then we still do have a couple fun things planned so stay tuned! If you wanna battle us on our final rankings or have any other general comments, hit us up here or at mediapodsmash@gmail.com

Episode 82 – More Memories From The Vault

This week I present yet another clip show with a couple of clips from the vault; one very old (2011) of Robert and I discussing shooting our movie, and a more recent (2020) of some voice recording outtakes from our recent Christmas episode.

It’s crazy to think that the first clip in this episode is now just about ten years old. It seems like really not all that long ago that we were sitting there, in over our heads, talking about our first attempts to make a real movie. I wish I could say a film did come from it, but a few months after the recording of this clip that you heard, production stopped completely. While I don’t have a film to show for it, I do have a lot of fantastic memories, and I can look back at my failures for future endeavors. This is something that we can all do; every time. Over and over and over. Keep ascending and chipping away at it!

We went on a bit of a tangent there, but we could all use a little pep talk from time to time. Myself included, as I write this post at this very second.

The 2nd clip is pretty self-explanatory. It is a clip from a voice recordings session of the 2020 X-Mas podcast (guess I will explain it anyway). This project was a lot of fun to put together in general and I’ve already started brainstorming some new ideas for X-Mas 2021. I’d like to make it a lot more visual this time, but more on that later.

Thanks for your continued support, I really appreciate it. If you wanna reach out, mediapodsmash@gmail.com is where it’s at. We love you!

Episode 81 – Grasping For Purchase

This week I rail against some dummies on social media, we talk about some April fools things from around the internet, some anxious driving moments are discussed, and more!

We hope you had a great Easter weekend with lots of great food, family and friends! Close out your weekend with some MPS and let your cares drift away. We look forward to presenting some of our bigger projects coming very soon! In the meantime, drop us a line at mediapodsmash@gmail.com We love hearing from listeners and are always open to feedback and comments! Thanks for the support from everybody so far!

Episode 80 – We’re Not Saying It Was Aliens

This week Ryan and I celebrate the 80 episode milestone by talking about what we’ve been up to, how we decided to celebrate St.Patty’s Day, and the fascinating world of aliens (and the even more fascinating people who believe in the ancient ones).

As mentioned, we are also working on some bigger projects. The first to be released will be The 90’s Nostalgia Showdown II. I’ve streamlined it a bit and added some different types of games. Hopefully that’ll be something we can achieve before the summer comes; very much looking forward to it!

Episode 79 – Disaster Recovery

This week I am joined by special guest Nicholas Pepin from Pop Culture Roulette! We attempt to do something that we spoke about doing years ago on a previous pod; break down and comment on a lost episode. The episode we speak about would have been episode 32 in the original run of episodes, but we decided to make a different one instead. Thanks again to Nicholas for being on the show and indulging me in this experimental podcast episode. We also recorded a really fun Pop Culture Roulette episode prior to the recording of this project that involves a little bracket tournament of our own. That will be available by the end of tomorrow or early Monday morning!

As always, we loving hearing from you! Hit us up with any suggestions, comments, questions, hate mail, whatever; mediapodsmash@gmail.com I appreciate the continued support and can’t wait to reveal some more projects that we’ve got in the works. If you find something in life that speaks to you, keep moving toward it. You never know what could happen or who you could grow to become. Media Pod Smash off!

Episode 78 – Pop Culture Pies

This week Ryan and I discuss our extensive history of Tecmo Superbowl tournaments, as well as our most recent tourney last weekend. We also touch on a few current things and try to come up with famous pies from pop culture.

As mentioned, we’ve got some more special projects coming up and can’t wait to share more details as things get closer. Follow us on all the social medias for more and drop us a question or comment at: mediapodsmash@gmail.com
